Edwin Cuervo Rangel, the performer, was struck on the side of his neck, where Benjamin Jackson, ringmaster at Circus Murcia, said "mostly soft tissue and no major blood vessels" are located.
According to Jackson, there was minimal bleeding from the wound, which has raised concerns not just about physical harm but also the psychological impact on Rangel.
