Calls for Moroccan Rapper's Release Outside a Casablanca Court Moroccan rapper Mohamed Mounir, known as "Gnawi," was arrested on January 28th during a performance at a music festival in Tétouan.
Security forces stormed the stage, detaining Mounir and several other performers. The charges against Mounir include blasphemy and insulting the Moroccan monarchy.
His family and supporters have denied these allegations, which they say are baseless.
